International Service
We actively support the Rotary Foundation, an
endowment fund that awards graduate, undergraduate, teacher and
journalist scholarships for travel and study abroad. Special grants
support major immunization campaigns, health care, nutritional and
humanity projects on four continents. Through Rotary’s PolioPlus
program nearly two billion children throughout the world have been
immunized.
Hinsdale Rotary has provided financial and
leadership assistance for five sun ovens in three underdeveloped
countries and a water supply system in Mexico. We have also provided
assistance for disaster relief, medical care and other international
humanitarian projects.

Fundraising
Funds for our international and
community service projects are raised through an annual auction, our
art fair hot dog stand and other club activities.
In 1999, we formed the Hinsdale Rotary
Foundation to accept tax-deductible contributions.
Fun and Frolic
Fellowship plays an important
role in the life of our club. Theater parties, progressive dinners,
holiday parties and other events provide memorable times of fun and
fellowship for our members and their families.

Community Service
Locally, our club supports a wide range of
community programs and organizations, including Hinsdale Community
Service, Hinsdale Youth Center, Bikes for Kids, Wellness House and
the Hinsdale Food Pantry. We serve as July 4th parade marshals and
our cleanup crews work on the banks of Salt Creek with our Adopt A
Stream project.

Hinsdale Central Scholarships
Each year, our club presents
scholarships for leadership and service, fine and performing arts
and careers to three outstanding Hinsdale Central High School
students.
We also present Youth Merit Awards to high
school and middle school students with exceptional academic,
athletic and leadership achievements.
