I should be back and running after July 4th. We'll start with IMPORTANT NOTICES: * The Installation Dinner is this Wed., June 30th. Cocktails at 6, Dinner at 7pm. It's URGENT that you RSVP to Mike Pauritsch ASAP whether you and a guest are planning on attending or not. (The dinner will replace the July 2nd regular meeting.) * Mike Pauritsch also needs to know whether or not you're attending the July 19th luncheon at the Rosewood West in Crestwood. The President of Rotary International will be the speaker. (Our club will not meet July 23rd in lieu of this meeting.) There is no additional charge for this luncheon, and we are all encouraged to attend. Please RSVP to Mike P. Last Week... We heard from our District President, Chuck Johnson. He announced very exciting news that our club is receiving the "President's Citation" from Rotary International President Jonathan Majiyagbe. We were 1 of 7 clubs in the district to receive this prestigious award. We also heard from I & M Canal Historian, Ron about how vital the canal was to our communities development. There was also discussion at one table about informing all members that you may be exempt from "Fun & Frolic" fines by paying $200.00 in advance. With the new calendar year starting July 1st, see Stu about paying your fines in advance, so you don't have to dig in your wallet each week. Bob Kramer is in need of Parade Marshals for the July 4th Parade. Please sign up today. Our thoughts and prayers are with Hal Faeth and his family as they cherish everyday he has with us. He is now residing at the Elmhurst Extended Care Facility and is taking phone calls at (630) 279-6096. His wife Jean thanks us for the lovely English Garden. Greeters...
